The Gin Tower runs the full height of the room — three storeys of shelves and over a thousand bottles, worked by a bartender on a rolling library ladder. It is the first thing you see walking into the Parkview Square lobby, and it is doing exactly what the room built around it is doing: performing.
ATLAS lives in the ground-floor lobby of Parkview Square in Bugis, the 1920s Gatsby-era interior grafted onto a 2000s office tower. The bar programme is gin-first, champagne-second, and everything else third. It made World's 50 Best Bars at No. 4 in 2020 and was still on the list at No. 48 in 2023. Over a thousand gins on a three-storey tower is a stunt that becomes a programme in the hands of a bartender who can actually use it. Forty-five feet of Art Deco ceiling, painted murals overhead, brass and marble at eye level, bespoke leather lounge chairs arranged around low tables under the Gin Tower. It is a 1920s pastiche done at full budget inside a Gotham-looking office block, and the scale sets it apart — most bars this ambitious are basement rooms; this one has a lobby's worth of height and light to work with.
Afternoons pull a hotel-guest and afternoon-tea crowd, quiet enough to actually hear the ice. Evenings fill with a mix of Bugis office workers who finished at seven, tourists who came with a bar list, and Singapore drinkers using it as a first stop before somewhere later. Fridays with the jazz band are the loudest and the most dressed-up. The room is big enough that even at peak nobody is hovering at your shoulder for the seat.
All prices are quoted before service charge and GST, which the venue adds on top without publishing the combined figure. The gin drinks are where the money is best spent; the kitchen is where it isn't.
ATLAS is a first-drink bar and an occasion bar, not a full evening. Come for afternoon tea, or come at seven for two G&Ts under the tower, admire the ceiling, and move on to dinner and somewhere later for the third round. The reasons to plan a return are specific: the Friday jazz set, a visitor who has never seen the room, or a champagne night that starts at eleven. Anyone looking for a bar to close down at 2am should go somewhere the kitchen and the crowd match the drinks — this room does its best work before midnight.
