Cocktails Named After Cocktails, in Barranco

Thirteenth on The World's 50 Best Bars in 2025, the bar on Pedro de Osma runs a Peruvian ingredient map through classic bar templates, and treats the food like it means it.

The bar is named for two drinks — the White Lady and the Bee's Knees — and that gives you the shape of the place before you sit down. Classic cocktail templates, Peruvian ingredients doing the lifting, a room built so the staff can see every seat. The World's 50 Best Bars ranked it 16th in 2024 and 13th in 2025, and gave it the Michter's Art of Hospitality Award in 2025.

The line the bar uses for itself is Coctelería de Producto — cocktails built around local producers and what the Amazon, the Andes and the Pacific happen to be growing. Call it a cocktail bar and eatery, and take the second half seriously. This is not a nightcap stop after Kjolle.

The award and the ranking are real, but the reason to come back is that the kitchen holds its own against the bar.

The White Lady and the Bee's Knees are the anchors — the bar takes its name from them and both stay on the menu as the reference points against which everything else is measured. Order one of the two first. It tells you what the room is doing with a template you already know, before the seasonal Peruvian material starts pulling drinks in less familiar directions.

The Room
ATMOSPHERE
8.3

The Barranco space was laid out with sightlines as the design brief: the team wanted to be able to see every guest from behind the bar at all times, and you can feel that when you sit down. Nothing is tucked away in a corner where a drink might sit half-finished for ten minutes. Sit at the bar if you want to watch the build; take a table if you are eating properly, which you should be.

The Crowd
VIBE
8.2

A mix of Lima regulars who care about drinks, the Barranco art-and-gallery crowd wandering in from Pedro de Osma, and visitors who have flown in for it. Early in the week, locals dominate and the room reads like a neighbourhood cocktail bar with ambition. Later in the week the international share climbs, the volume comes up, and the seats compress. If you want the version where the bartenders have time to talk through the menu, come Tuesday or Wednesday.

The Tab
VALUE
8.4

What is confirmed is that quoted prices include IGV and a 5% service charge — lower than the up-to-13% recargo the law allows and than the 13% Central and Kjolle apply — so the shelf price is closer to the all-in than at most rooms of this ambition in the city. Come hungry: the small-plates programme is priced to be part of the evening, and eating properly is what turns a stop into a night.

The Night
REPEAT
8.6

The best version of Lady Bee is a Tuesday or Wednesday, two seats at the bar around seven, one White Lady and one Bee's Knees to open, then a handful of small plates ordered as the bartender suggests them. That is the evening the room was designed for and the one the hospitality award recognises. Skip it if you are looking for a fast one-drink stop before dinner elsewhere — the format punishes that. Skip it too if you want a loud late Saturday; there are Barranco rooms built for that and this is not one of them.

“Thirteenth on The World's 50 Best Bars in 2025, in Barranco, and it eats as well as it drinks. Book early in the week, order a namesake, stay for the food.”

Lady Bee earns its 2025 World's 50 Best ranking on the drinks and its 2025 Art of Hospitality Award on the room, and the honest surprise is how much the kitchen matters to the evening. Book the direct site for up to four; walk in if you are two and it is early. Go Tuesday or Wednesday for the version with room to hear the bartender. Skip if you want a fast one-drink stop or a loud late Saturday.
