Bradley Zero of Rhythm Section and Nathanael Williams opened it in 2022 as a hi-fi bar with small-island Caribbean bones — rum-forward drinks, African-Caribbean food, and a rotating cast of London selectors on the decks. It is a bar with two settings. Get the setting wrong for the evening you want and you will feel like you turned up to the wrong party.
Jumbi is two bars stacked into one address, and the 10pm table-clearance is the door between them.

Bradley Zero's collection runs floor to ceiling behind the bar, and the hi-fi rig in front of it is set up for people who care what a bassline sounds like at 30% volume as much as at 90%. Copeland Park's warehouse bones do the rest — concrete, industrial fittings, a terrace outside for when the weather cooperates.
Peckham locals, Rhythm Section heads, crate diggers who came for the soundsystem, and a diaspora crowd that treats the place as a proper Afro-Caribbean room rather than a themed one. The energy is warm early and communal late — by 10.30pm the people who booked a 7pm table are either up and dancing or have handed the room over to the people who came for exactly that. Nobody is waiting on your stool, because your stool has been moved.
Two rum punches and a plate of plantain gets you into the mid-twenties before VAT, which is added on top of the menu prices rather than baked in — worth knowing before the bill arrives. The punches are where it holds up cleanly. Hit the early-evening 2-for-1 window and the whole bill reshapes.
This is the best version of a hi-fi rum bar in south London on a Saturday when you commit to one side of the 10pm line. Book a 7pm table, eat, drink two punches, and stay through the table-clearance for the DJ set — that is the night this room was built for. Come at 8.30pm expecting a quiet dinner and you will be eating through a soundcheck. Come on a Sunday for the Jerk Roast if the dance floor is not the point.
