The Paris Cocktail Bar That Costs You a 6pm Arrival

A bright, light-wood cocktail room in the 10th where the pastis is serious, the menu plays with fabric and mouthfeel, and everyone under ten people walks in.

The first thing that reads wrong, in the good way, is the light. A Paris cocktail bar in 2026 is supposed to be dark — a low-ceilinged room behind an unmarked door, a bartender in a waistcoat, a candle on the table. The room announces itself. It has been doing so since 2014.

What the room is selling underneath the light is a cocktail programme that holds a Kinda Decent score of 83.6, built around menus that ask you to pick a drink by touching suede, silk, or leather rather than reading a spec. That sounds like a gimmick and mostly isn't.

A bright, generous cocktail room in a city that defaults to speakeasy dim, and the drinks justify the windows.

The Pour
DRINKS
8.4

The Tiramisu is the one to lead with. €15 for Hennessy VS aged on cocoa nib, amaretto, coffee liqueur, cold brew, vanilla, cream, clarified with mascarpone — it drinks like the dessert without the sugar assault, and it is the drink that turns up in coverage most often for a reason. Order it first, before your palate is anywhere.

The Room
ATMOSPHERE
8.3

Run a hand along the bar top and it is copper, warm under the palm, the one dark note in a room otherwise built from light wood. The panelling runs the walls, the front windows carry most of the lighting until the sun goes, and after 8pm the room settles into something warmer without ever going dim. High wooden tables anchor the middle; the bar seats hug the copper.

The Crowd
VIBE
7.8

A mix of 10th-arrondissement locals from the Canal Saint-Martin drift, cocktail-curious visitors, and a steady seam of industry people who know Elfi's work. It skews 30-and-up, dressed like the neighbourhood rather than the Marais, and the room stays talkative rather than loud. On a Wednesday at 9pm you can hold a real conversation at the bar. On a Saturday at 11pm you cannot.

The Tab
VALUE
8.2

The Tiramisu at €15 is the one drink on the list where the price and the work on the glass line up exactly.

The Night
REPEAT
8.0

This is the best version of a bright, walk-in cocktail bar in Paris — a category most of the city refuses to build. Come back on a Wednesday with one other person, sit at the copper, order the Tiramisu and then something from the pastis shelf, and leave before the Thursday-through-Saturday crowd arrives. Don't come back for a birthday of eight without emailing first, and don't come back looking for the low-lit speakeasy evening — that's four blocks away and a different bar.

Tiramisu (€15); C'est le bouquet! (cucumber-wasabi); ask what pastis is open

“Bright, walk-in cocktails in the 10th, priced fairly and poured with real skill.”

Come on a weeknight before 9pm, sit at the copper bar, order the Tiramisu and then a pastis. Skip Thursday-through-Saturday after 10pm if you want to hear yourself think, and email ahead if you're eight or more. If you want the low-lit speakeasy evening, go to Little Red Door instead — CopperBay is the other thing on purpose.
